On January 7th, Sonic SVM officially launched, listing simultaneously on multiple exchanges including OKX, Upbit, Bybit, KuCoin, Backpack, and others. SonicX is Sonic’s first TikTok Mini App and its gaming platform on TikTok.

SONIC & TIKTOK: WEB2 MASS USER ACQUISITION

SonicX is Sonic’s first TikTok Mini App and its gaming platform on TikTok. With TikTok’s over 1 billion monthly active users, Sonic aims to identify users who can directly enter the Web3 gaming world, a process similar to Telegram’s approach.

How does Sonic accomplish this? First, users must have a genuine TikTok account (not Douyin) to log in, effectively bypassing countries and regions where TikTok is unavailable. After this, KYC-verified users can complete games and tasks through SonicX, interacting with Sonic SVM’s underlying infrastructure. Overall, SonicX’s design isn’t fundamentally different from most TG mini-programs we see, but since users come directly from TikTok, it eliminates the need for additional KYC while ensuring most users are genuine.

A natural question arises: If most users come from TikTok, a Web2 platform, do they need to learn Web3 concepts? How do they understand wallets and private keys? This is where SonicX excels – most operations within SonicX are completely abstracted, except when transferring tokens to third-party wallets. Users are barely aware of the wallet’s existence. From Sonic’s Tap-to-Earn to completing tasks and accessing other games in the game center, SonicX automatically generates a wallet strongly bound to the user’s TikTok account, requiring no Web3 expertise for interaction. Even in the user center, wallet avatars are imported from TikTok. Theoretically, this infrastructure supports complete account abstraction – users don’t need any understanding of the crypto industry until they want to “sell their account” or transfer gaming tokens to exchanges for sale.

SONICX’S TRAFFIC ACQUISITION POTENTIAL THROUGH TIKTOK

With its simple login process, incentivized on-chain operations for rewards, and user-friendly onboarding, SonicX has the potential to generate significant traffic through TikTok. If there’s any disadvantage, it’s that SonicX itself and its game settings are still relatively basic, without particularly eye-catching mechanisms or gameplay features like those found in viral mini-programs. However, infrastructure is always the first step for games to emerge, and Web2 traffic acquisition remains one of the most promising prerequisites for Web3 games to succeed.

This is currently Sonic SVM’s most unique advantage. Imagine being a developer who, after developing a mobile game, can seamlessly deploy it on Solana at the backend and TikTok at the frontend. If a video about this game goes viral, users can directly enter the game through the official account without registering a wallet, while the in-game tokens are real on-chain tokens.

In conclusion, Sonic SVM focuses on building game infrastructure, with clear use cases in TikTok Applayer, and has now reached the token launch stage. We look forward to seeing what the next game released through Sonic SVM will look like, and whether it can achieve mainstream adoption through TikTok as a traffic entry point.

SONIC TOKEN SHOWS STABLE PERFORMANCE

Looking at market performance, SONIC has stabilized at around $0.92 per token from its initial listing price of $0.78. The 24-hour trading volume is $1.84B. SONIC has demonstrated a positive market trend.

Sonic SVM announced its native token $SONIC tokenomics at the end of last year, with a total supply of 2.4 billion SONIC tokens. Of this, 57% is allocated to the community, including community and ecosystem development (30%), initial claims (7%), and HyperGrid rewards (20%).

From the current perspective, as a gaming infrastructure, Sonic SVM specifically addresses the underlying performance pressure issues for games running on Solana. Sonic’s innovative design primarily targets high concurrency and instant transaction needs in gaming scenarios, providing developers and players with a smooth and efficient on-chain experience.
